Asli Akbay will be performing her solo standup comedy show Tomboy in Antalya for the first time at the Simurg Cafe.
Fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a 5 star review where she earned reviews for its “bold and hilarious relatable content delivered with the ease of a stand-up comedy veteran” and praised as “an enjoyable and illuminating hour with humour and great storytelling.”
About the show: Asli has always has been a Tomboy. Born in the 1980s, back when no one even knew they had pronouns to defend, Asli was already on her own gender-fluid journey, climbing trees and shunning skirts. But as a teenager, things got complicated. Convinced she had to look 'girly' to attract boys, Asli grew her hair and accepted life in a female body. As a TomAdult she now thinks she knows better than to kowtow to Instagram grooming levels. But does it have to be so... ahem... binary? Join her on this comedic coming-of-age gender journey.
